Who am I talking about? Lionel Messi, that’s who. Outside midfielder for Barcelona and superstar for Argentina. Readers, are you confused? One of my lifelong passions has been the “beautiful game” futbol or here in the states…soccer. Yeah, I know many of you can’t relate, but those who can know what I’m talking about. Last night the MLS newest team, the Seattle Sounders, had a friendly game with the number 1 team in the world, Barcelona. Ending result: Barcelona 4 – Sounders 0. Couldn’t expect much better than that for the American team, but Messi had 2 goals in the first half. Messi is very small and looks like a throwback from the 70’s, but when he plays he seems to be so much better than those around him. Vision, sight, flow…Messi’s got it. Check him out on TV if you can. If you are really ready to search Messi on YouTube, then check out Ronaldo, Ronaldino, and even check out the way Maradona warmed up in the 80’s.
